And here we go, yet another month of disruption – and yet another month where people found interesting and fun ways to deal with it. Hope you enjoy!
If You’re Happy And You Know It…
Howl as loudly as possible. That’s at least what one Facebook group with over 500,000 members has decided to do. Every evening at 8pm they go outside and…well, start howling. Because why not? Can you think of anything better to do? And don’t tell me that doesn’t sound like fun. In fact, I’m doing it right now.
Long Live the Drive-In!
When I was a kid, I saw E.T. at the drive-in movie theater. I was four years old, and I still remember how awesome it was. And now, thanks to a resurgence in drive-in theaters, I just might get to take my own children to see one. So freaking exciting!!!!
Give the People What They Want!
A grocery store in Missouri has decided to repurpose its salad bar to serve beer, candy, and cereal. Which is creative, and awesome, and has helped their store sales. But I’ll admit, I don’t understand. Aren’t those the main ingredients in most salads?
Bumper Tables!
A New Jersey bar is testing out inflatable bumper tables to help enforce social distancing. As in you sit in a giant innertube and wheel yourself out, presumably able to bonk other people’s innertube tables like a giant game of drunken bumper cars. This goes along with a German café that encouraged its customers to wear pool noodle hats to help keep their distance. I don’t know when we’ll get back to normal, but I hope some of these innovations stick around. I love the bumper table thing.
